ABSTRACT:
Rosiglitazone is a thiazolidinedione class of antidiabetic agent utilized in the treatment of patients having Type 2 diabetes. It works as an insulin sensitizer, by binding to the peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-? (PPAR?) in fat cells and making the cells more responsive to insulin. The present review highlights the published analytical techniques reported so far in the literatureforthe analysis of rosiglitazone. They include various techniques likevoltammetry, spectrophotometry, high performance liquid chromatography, high performance thin layer chromatography, liquid chromatography-electrospray ionization-tandem mass spectrometry, capillary electrophoresis-electrospray ionization-mass spectrometry for their routine, impurity profiling and stability indicating determination in different pharmaceutical dosage forms.
